What is Carnauba?

Carnauba wax is a resin obtained from the leaves of a palm tree called Copernicia Cerifera. Brazilian natives often refer to the Carnauba tree as the “Tree of Life,” because it is used in so many ways to nourish and support. Pure Carnauba wax has the highest melting point of all-natural waxes and is widely accepted as the hardest commercial wax known to man. In its natural state, it is harder than concrete. One of its most interesting properties is that it swells and closes its pores when exposed to water. Carnauba wax also has the ability to retain oil and has excellent gloss properties.

Formula 1 Uses Grade #1 Carnauba Wax (Prime Yellow) which is derived from leaves of the Carnauba Palm Tree before the leaves have completely unfolded and been exposed to the sun. This is the most optically pure and considered of the highest quality. It is also the most expensive. Grades #3 and #4 are made from leaves of the Carnauba palm tree that have unfolded and have been exposed to sunlight. This wax becomes darker in appearance and can be rather cloudy in light transfer. Many automotive wax and polish manufacturers use other waxes in their products, such as paraffin waxes, beeswax, and synthetic waxes. Some manufacturers use lower-grade Carnauba waxes in their products.

How to use it?

• It is important to wash and dry the car thoroughly before applying wax, any remaining particles of sand or dust could scratch the surface of the paint while applying the wax
• For best results only use wax that is at room temperature, if it’s too cold it could leave streaks on your paintwork
• It is recommended that the paint surface of the vehicle be above 18 degrees Celsius for the wax to properly bond with the paint
• Apply a small amount of wax using damp applicators sponge, using small circular movements to one defined area at a time
• Do not apply too much of the wax, as it will be hard to buff off when hazed and could leave white streaks. it will also result in unnecessary wastage
• Wait until wax dries and hazes
• Do not leave the wax to sit for too long as it won’t result in a better shine, it will only make it more difficult to remove
• Polish using a clean, dry microfiber cloth, turning it frequently until the desired high gloss effect has been achieved

1. Do not apply it when the car body is overheating
2. Store this product in a cool and well-ventilated place to avoid direct sunlight
3. Keep away from children
4. If splash into eyes, please wash with running water immediately
